Toddler Approved Banana Chocolate Shake

Walker really digged this shake/smoothie. It doesn’t make a big drink but rather about the right size portion we should be consuming. For Walker it was about double what he could eat so brother Ford helped out and split it with him. The shake was very thick, I spooned it for him. For a straw you might need to add a bit more milk.

On the bananas whenever I have extra ones that are threatening to start browning out soon I peel and freeze them for later use!

I came across the recipe in a wonderful book on raw foods, Raw Food Made Easy For 1 or 2 People,on page 168.

Banana Chocolate Shake

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium frozen banana, broken into quarters
  • ½ cup original almond milk (or unsweetened if desired)
  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp pure maple syrup
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract

Directions:

Add everything to a blender and process until smooth, it will be very thick and actually spoon-able.

Serves 1.
