On December 22, 2015 I made a goal to myself: I’d walk every day a minimum of 10,000 steps. I don’t stick with workout goals too well historically (does anyone?), but some how this one stuck. March 30th, 2016, I celebrated 100 days of walking. Friday, July 8th, I crossed 200 days. Somehow….I kept this going!

It isn’t easy though. When it heats up, you really lose the love of walking. My walking partner got a job, then she moved recently. But I kept going. As Spring came, and into summer, I walked alone. The boys getting out of school in June also threw a wrench into it. I found myself making the minimun, but often not much more. I know once Fall comes, and they go back to school, my miles will get bigger again. I miss the cool weather.
Well, there is that!
20K step days are not often, but they sure feel good!
One reason I love living in town is the rail to trail that cuts across town. Out the door, and across town through trees –
Through a park, an arboretum and even along a lake.
In reality, this is most days – The “OK, I made 10,00 steps, I’m going to bed” but it adds up….
In the end…how much did I walk in the last 100 days?
1,172,442 Steps
572.87 Miles
In the last 200 days I did:
2,577, 587 Steps
1,223.95 Miles
I’ll take that. And I’ll see you hopefully at Day 300 and well…maybe 365! If you want to see my daily post on my workout goals & weight loss journey, follow me on Instagram.
