I had seen Skidders many times when in the baby/toddler section at Target but had never really looked at them. We were out running errands this morning and ended up in Target and Ford saw an endcap of the shoes and pointed them out. I kind of rolled my eyes but then thought about it. Walker isn’t taking to shoes well. He doesn’t like the stiffness and even his new boots he hasn’t quite taken to – I think because they are clunky and not natural feeling. But…neither do I want him going barefoot at the library, etc. Target had them for $12.99 a pair and I took a gamble. (They retail for $19.99 so Target’s price was a bargain.)
Well….it was 4 hours later and he hadn’t taken them off. Not even tried. With socks he peels them off in minutes! He was walking around happily – it took him a few minutes to adjust, to stand tall. And then he was toddling around happily! This would be a major OMG I LOVE THESE!!
Yeah, I get excited easily apparently….
The next day of wearing them he walked across parking lots, sidewalks, through stores, etc. He happily lets me put them on and keeps them on.
The style of the shoe is neat – like a hybrid if you mixed Keen’s and Five Finger’s together. They roll with the foot and are light in weight. They come in a variety of boy and girl styles – we got Walker the sport ones. And best of all they are machine washable!
