A favorite drink of mine is Stevia sweetened lemonade. A container of Stevia powder ready for sweetening may seem pricey (check the baking supply aisle in Trader Joe’s, it runs around $10) but it lasts a long time. Stevia is a sweetener that you either love or hate, although after you drink it for a while it grows on you. I typically drink unsweetened black or herbal tea, with lemonade I do need some sweetness and Stevia is nicer than sugar.
I found my new Rubbermaid Carafe at our local Fred Meyer’s store. It is perfect and is tall/narrow meaning it hogs less space!
Stevia Lemonade
Ingredients:
- ½ cup lemon juice (bottled is fine, check Costco for good deals)
- 7 cups cold water
- ½ tsp Stevia powder
Directions:
Add the lemon juice, water and Stevia to a large container, shake or stir well. Let chill before serving. If not sweet enough add up to ¼ tsp more Stevia, but add carefully, it is very intense in small amounts.
Makes a shy 2 quarts.
